Young Professionals
Young Cardiologist Award & Bursary
Registration bursary + abstract presentation slot for young cardiologists
Applications Open — Deadline 15 March 2026

This award supports early-career cardiologists by providing full congress registration and a dedicated abstract presentation slot at the Young Cardiologist Session. Recipients also receive a certificate of award and are featured in the congress programme.

Nursing & Allied Health Professional Grant
Full registration bursary for nurses and allied health professionals

Recognising the critical role of nurses and allied health professionals in cardiovascular care, this grant provides full congress registration. Up to 30 bursaries are available, prioritising applicants from government and mission hospitals in under-served regions.

Research Funding
africaSTEMI Research Seed Grant
Small-grant funding for cardiovascular research projects led from Africa

The africaSTEMI Research Seed Grant provides up to USD 5,000 to support small-scale cardiovascular research projects based in Africa. Projects must be presented at africaSTEMI Live! 2026. Awards are made in partnership with the Cardiovascular Journal of Africa.

How It Works

Application Process

Submit Your Abstract
All grant applicants (except the Research Seed Grant) must first submit an abstract to africaSTEMI Live! 2026 via the Submissions page. This must be done before or alongside your grant application.

Complete the Grant Application Form
Click "Apply Now" on the relevant grant above. Provide your personal details, institutional affiliation, a 300-word statement of need/interest, and upload your CV (PDF, max 2MB).

Review by Grants Committee
Applications are reviewed by the africaSTEMI Grants Committee, comprising senior faculty and PASCAR representatives. Decisions are based on academic merit, financial need, geographic diversity, and institutional affiliation.

Notification & Acceptance
Successful applicants are notified by email by 1 April 2026. Recipients must confirm acceptance within 7 days. Funding logistics (flights, hotel, etc.) are arranged directly by the secretariat.

Attend & Present
Grant recipients are expected to attend the full congress and present their work. A short post-congress report is required from all travel grant recipients within 4 weeks of the event.
